One of the things we are taught at our church is that ideas are stimulated through traveling, prayer and reading. You may or may not be able to travel, but we can all pray and we can all read more (I do it when I watch less television).
Have you read any good books lately? Here is a list of mine:
Year 2008:
Inside My Heart by Robin McGraw (Make your OWN choices, don't let life dictate them to you.)
The Top 100 Women of the Bible by Pamela McQuade (I receieved this after I started reading The Matriarchal Dimension and it is interesting to see the "background" to many women of the Bible we may not have given much thought.)
Year 2007:
The Principles and Power of Vision by Dr. Myles Munroe (This book catapulted me to walking out my vision.)
The Matriarchal Dimension by Dr. Keira Taylor Banks (This book happens to be written by my Pastor, but it is truly awesome. It opened my eyes to so much about women in the Bible but also how women are viewed in society today and why.)
Seeding for the Billion Flow by Dr. Bill Winston (We must think so much bigger than we currently do if we truly believe we are children of the KING!)
Friends: A Love Story by Angela Bassett & Courtney B. Vance (A true love story, fun and encouraging.)
The Prayer of Jabez, Breaking Through to the Blessed Life by Bruce Wilkinson (Reread and started praying for God to enlarge my territory again. It's good to be reminded of what we have learned before.)
The Rules of Engagement, Vol 1 by Dr. N. Cindy Trimm (You don't read this, you pray this book and it is POWERFUL!)
Essence Magazines (fun, informative and relatable)
